Steel Clad

Choose steel clad for added security

We have over 35 years’ experience using steel cladding as the primary material in sports and industrial construction but it is poised to become even more prominent in our designs as clients opt for more sustainable building solutions.

As the construction industry looks for ways to reduce it’s carbon footprint, steel cladding architecture is included as part of a range of strategies that aim to reduce energy consumption.  It is of particular interest if that cladding has been recycled or is used in combination with sustainable glulam wood, which is another of our preferred materials.

Bespoke

We can provide you with a structure that fulfils your requirements, whether it’s a loading bay that you need, storage space, shelter for machinery or a new sports hall.  We design our steel clad buildings to be permanent fixtures but they are lightweight and easy to relocate should you only have short-term demands.

We can accommodate irregular dimensions and awkward spaces to create the perfect building for your business operations to evolve.  Any number of fixtures and fittings can be incorporated, from customised flooring and roller shutters to sectional doors and dock levellers.

Off-Site Construction

Prefabricated buildings can minimise the risk of disruption to your business and offer more efficiency.  The manufacturing can be scheduled to take place at the same time as the site is being prepared, if groundworks are required, so the two processes take place in parallel, resulting in quicker build times.  Less storage of materials is required on site.  Less labour is required.  All of this results in less waste.

Properties

As a building material, stainless steel cladding is versatile, durable, resistant to corrosion and easy to care for. Plus, it has modern aesthetic qualities that will help to ensure that your new building looks good. For areas where security is of great importance, steel cladding can provide peace of mind due to its strong and impenetrable nature.

It can also provide excellent insulation, reducing the need for heating and cooling, which will significantly reduce a building’s energy consumption and carbon footprint.

Maintenance

Maintaining steel cladding is simple, as it’s unlikely to be damaged.  Even in busy, exposed areas, the metal panels can withstand extreme weather and will resist fading, peeling and chalking, ensuring that they look their best for years. If the cladding does look a bit dirty, it can be cleaned with soapy water and we would be happy to survey your structure regularly to help prolong its longevity.

At the end of a building’s serviceable life, steel cladding can be easily collected, recycled and melted down to create new products, helping to contribute to the environmental friendliness of the construction.
